My Grill Cover Is Leaving Black Marks On My New Stainless Steel Grill Lid!

A consumer called and complained to us they had purchased a black barbeque grill cover from another company that sold plastic type vinyl covers and acrylic covers and the grill cover was leaving black marks with a faint fabric weave pattern on their new stainless steel barbeque grill lid.

The consumer stated the black markings and faint fabric pattern markings on the barbeque grill lid were nearly impossible to remove.

The consumer wanted to know why this was happening. After asking the consumer several questions we were able to quickly identify the problem!

1. The consumer had purchased a black vinyl fabric backed grill cover.
2. The consumer lived in Arizona where they had experienced prolonged periods of heat.
3. The cover would sit on the barbeque grill / grill lid for long periods of time in the Arizona heat.

Problem: Heat transfer of the black vinyl through the vinyl cover fabric backing onto the stainless steel barbeque grill lid.

Solution: Purchase our high quality, durable and long lasting natural fiber outdoor canvas grill covers.

Research shows it is better to use light colored materials on outdoor equipment with exposure to high heat because it does a better job of reflecting the sun which creates heat.

Dark colored barbeque grill covers absorb and can amplify heating of metal surfaces the cover is to protect and degrades the cover material quicker than lighter colored fabrics and therefore the cover ends up with a shorter life.
